The three fields of work we pursue alongside draft horses.
Riding on a draft horse. In partnership with a local hotel, we offer time spent with these powerful yet gentle horses.
Large in build and calm in temperament, draft horses give a steady, reassuring ride quite unlike that of a riding horse. Once you are up on that broad back, even first-timers can enjoy their time with the horse. On request, we also offer carriage rides drawn by a draft horse.

From Chagu-Chagu-Umacco to the many horse traditions alive in Iwate, we carry this culture forward. We also perform at events outside the prefecture.
Chagu-Chagu-Umacco is held every year on the second Saturday of June. Dozens of farm horses—sometimes more than a hundred—clad in colorful trappings parade through the city streets, their bells ringing. People, cars, dogs, and children pass close by, and through it all, horse and human move in step. Opportunities to walk together on this scale, through such varied surroundings, are in fact rare.
The festival itself has become a precious occasion for deepening the bond between horse and human. That is how we see it.
Horses in full trappings, and the people who sustain the culture
In the fields, we support rice and crop growing through horse plowing, chain weeding, and compost; in the mountains, our horses haul timber. We also dispatch horses and handlers for film, TV, and commercial productions.
On the sites of rice and crop growing, we carry out horse plowing, chain weeding, and provide compost. The cultivation itself is led by our affiliate, Studia Inc.; we bring the craft of the draft horse to that work. There is a way of engaging with the soil here that no machine can replace.
On forestry sites, our horses haul timber down from the mountains. Even on slopes machines cannot reach, the work is done without scarring the ground. This is work made possible only when horse and human labor together.
We also dispatch this craft, and our horses, to film production. From powerful riding scenes to old-fashioned horse-sled scenes, we have been called to countless sites—feature films, commercial and NHK television programs, and web commercials.
